The leader of Bulgaria’s Socialist Party (BSP) and former PM, Sergey Stanishev, will lead his party’s list for the upcoming European Parliament elections.

The decision was made late on Friday by the BSP’s executive committee, Standartnews informs.

The government was pondering on Friday how to correct a mistake in Parliament that saw a bill passed on Thursday even though it had not received the majority of the votes.

BELGRADE - The working group tasked with drafting a labor bill, comprising representatives of the government, trade unions and employers, discussed a minimum wage on Thursday, and trade unions proposed that it should not be below 70 percent of the average basket of consumer goods.

Svetlin Tanchev, an MP formerly from the largest opposition group GERB, will represent the newly-established party Bulgaria Without Censorship.

Although he has not joined the party, he is expected to stand for its interests in the Bulgarian Parliament starting from Tuesday, Dnevnik.bg reports.

Social and Economic Council without decision on minimum wage

BELGRADE - The Social and Economic Council of Serbia did not deliver a decision on a minimum wage on Friday due to opposing stances of employers and trade unions, the Serbian government's press office has announced.

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated on Friday that the future government will file the new draft laws on labour, bankruptcy and privatisation to the parliament for adoption.
