Turkey condemns YPG/PKK terror attack on hospital in Afrin

Turkey on June 12 condemned an attack by the terror group YPG/PKK on a hospital in Afrin, northern Syria which killed at least 13 civilian patients and injured dozens.

In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry "strongly" condemned the attack and its perpetrators, including one of the YPG/PKK's other aliases, the so-called SDF.

Turkey secured most of lands bordering Syria: Erdoğan

Turkey has secured most of the areas in Syria near the Turkish border, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on June 11.

"We will continue to make every effort to ensure that our neighbor, Syria, has a bright future based on its territorial integrity and political unity," he said while virtually attending a dam opening ceremony in the southern province of Kilis.

Turkish soldier succumbs to wounds sustained in N Iraq

A Turkish soldier has succumbed to wounds he sustained during an anti-terror operation in northern Iraq, Turkey's Defense Ministry said on June 6.

The ministry said in a statement that Infantry Specialist Sergeant Samet Şeker was injured when he stepped on an improvised explosive during Operation Pence-Yildirim and was taken to the hospital.

6 PKK terror suspects held in Turkey

Turkish security forces on May 23 arrested six PKK terror suspects in the capital Ankara and northwestern Istanbul province.

Turkish police carried out simultaneous operations at 14 places in Ankara and Istanbul on May 21 to arrest terror suspects. A former official of the People's Democratic Party (HDP) was among the suspects.

The main targets of the attack were two military bases in the east of the country, more precisely the Command of Unmanned Aerial Systems in the province of Batman and the command of the 23rd Infantry Division in ırnak Province.
The Kurds used drones, and as the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced, there were no casualties or material damage.

Terror attack attempts thwarted in southeastern Turkey

Two attempted terror attacks at military installations in southeastern Turkey have been foiled, Turkish sources said early on May 21. 

Terrorists used three model planes to attack a UAV base in Batman province at around 11.10 p.m. Thursday (2130GMT), according to a statement by the governate.

All model planes used were neutralized and no casualties were reported, it added.

Turkey neutralizes PKK's ringleader

Turkish security forces have killed an alleged high-ranking PKK terrorist in an operation in northern Iraq, Turkey's president said on May 17. 

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said after a Cabinet meeting that the slain terrorist was responsible for the Syria operations of the outlawed PKK.

He identified him by his codename, Sofi Nurettin, and said he was a Syrian national.

Turkey 'neutralizes' 5 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq air strike

At least five PKK terrorists were "neutralized" in airstrikes during Turkey's anti-terror operations in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry said on May 11 evening.

After being found in the Avasin-Basyan region, the terrorists were neutralized by the Turkish Air Force as part of Operation Pençe-Yıldırım, the ministry said on Twitter.
