Greece has the highest youth unemployment rate in the EU

The global economic downturn of 2008 particularly affected children and young people, especially those aged 15-24 who dropped out or were excluded from education, employment and training, according to the ENA Institute's Social Development Bulletin.

In December 2021, the euro area seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 7.0%, down from 7.1% in November 2021 and from 8.2% in December 2020. The EU unemployment rate was 6.4% in December 2021, down from 6.5% in November 2021 and from 7.5% in December 2020. These divs are published by Eurostat,
the statistical office of the European Union.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Turkey decreased by 0.2 points to 11.2 percent in October, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said on Dec. 10.

"The number of unemployed persons aged 15 years old and over decreased by 75,000 to 3.71 million persons in the October," said TÜİK in a statement on its website.

Turkey's unemployment rate was 10.6% in June, down 2.5 percentage points from the previous month, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on Aug. 10.

The number of unemployed aged 15 and over decreased by 823,000 month-on-month to 4 million in June.

The unemployment rate in Greece decreased to 15.4% in May 2021, compared to 17.2% in the previous month and 16.9% in May 2020, according to Eurostat data on unemployment published today.

Unemployment in Turkey came in at 13.9% this April, up 0.9 percentage points from the previous month, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said on June 10.

The number of unemployed age 15 and over rose 275,000 month-on-month to 4.5 million in April, TÜİK said in a statement.

Turkey's unemployment rate reached 12.9% in the first quarter of 2021, up 0.1 percentage point from the previous quarter, the country's statistical authority announced on May 18. 

The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over increased by 142,000 to 4.1 million in January-March period, a Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) statement said.

Turkey's unemployment rate read 13.1 percent in March, down 0.1 percentage point month-on-month, the country's statistical authority announced on May 10.

The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over increased by 59,000 to 4.2 million in March compared to February, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said in a statement.

Unemployment in Turkey was 13.4 percent in February, up 0.7 percentage points from the previous month, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released on April 12.

The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over increased by 250,000 to 4.2 million in February compared to January, TÜİK said in a statement.
