CSO performs concert in memory of İsmet İnönü
Under the baton of conductor Gürer Aykal, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) performed a special concert in memory of İsmet İnönü, the second president of Türkiye, on the night of Dec. 22 at CSO Ada Ankara in the Turkish capital.

Yefim Bronfman | Thessaloniki | April 20
Renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman and Norwegian conductor Terje Mikkelsen join the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra at the northern port city's concert hall (tch.gr) on April 20. The Soviet-born Israeli-American soloist will be performing Schumann's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra and Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra at AKM tonight
The second concert of the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra (IDSO) Denizbank Concert will take place tonight at Atatürk Cultural Center. South Korean violinist Soyoung Yoon will perform works by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss, as well as the violin concerto of Jean Sibelius, the founder of Finnish symphonic music at the concert, to be conducted by Rengim Gökmen.

Classical music festival in Bodrum
Masters and young stars of classical music will meet with art lovers at the Opus Music Festival to be held in Bodrum Castle on Sept 9 and10. Young artists İlyun Bürkev, Ayşe Cemre Ağırgöl and Naz İrem Türkmen will take the stage at the festival on Sept 9. The event will host the 120-year-old German State Opera Chamber Orchestra on Sept 10. Under the baton of conductor Gürer Aykal.

Veteran musician and conductor Professor Rengim Gökmen says that music is an art that soothes harsh and violent feelings of human beings and penetrates into their souls.
CSO appoints first female manager
A woman has been appointed for the very first time as the manager of the Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) since the institution's establishment in 1826.
Flute artist Sibel Ayhan Bayer will serve in the CSO's top post for a year.
"We have many female artists in the orchestra, and I think women can also succeed in management," Bayer told Demirören News Agency.
