Men charged in Myconos boating death freed pending probe

Two men charged in connection with the death of a 10-year-old boy in a speedboat accident off Myconos on Monday were granted conditional release on Tuesday.

The decision to free the men pending trial was taken by a prosecutor on nearby Syros, the administrative capital of the Cyclades group of islands, who deemed that the two men should be charged once an investigation into the circumstances of the incident is complete.

The boy was killed after falling off a banana boat ride at Kalo Livadi beach and being hit by the speedboat that had been towing the riders.
