Liberal (PNL) Adina Valean, the vice president of the European Parliament announced the PNL had been received in the European People's Party (EPP) on Thursday, according to a release sent AGERPRES.

Valean took part in the meeting of the EPP Political Assembly.

According to the release, following the recommendation of the working group no. 3, the EPP Political Assembly decided to welcome the Romanian Liberals in this pan-European right-wing political group.

'We are determined to work together with our EPP party fellows in order to strengthen our presence in the European Union, to promote our values and create more competitive and more prosperous Europe. We are also determined to work together with our Romanian fellows so as to win the next elections and together build prosperous Romania', Valean said.

The release says that as regards the presence of the PNL and their allies in the Christian Liberal Alliance (ACL), the Democratic Liberals (PDL), the two parties' merger is at this moment clear and fully shared by the European partners.

'Also taking shape is the sometimes difficult road we've had to travel in order to build the Romanian right-wig, today a very powerful political alternative to the Social Democrat Party (PSD). We consider that this moment of European recognition of the National Liberal Party's right-wing condition represents for us a strong argument in the presidential elections scheduled towards the end of the year' in Romania, the release said.AGERPRES
