Court rules ADEDY strike illegal

An Athens court on Thursday ruled that an upcoming strike called by civil servants’ union ADEDY in protest to government plans for an evaluation program in its sector, was illegal.

The umbrella union's strike action was also being organized in protest to the administration's planned controls regarding employees' short-term contracts turning into open-ended agreements.

The court ordered the union to refrain from calling industrial action over the same demands in the future.
