IRES exit poll: Victor Ponta 41.5%, Klaus Iohannis 31.2%

Incumbent Prime Minister Victor Ponta, the candidate of the Social Democrat Party-National Union for Romania's Progress-Conservative Party got 41.5 percent of the votes in the presidential election on Sunday; Christian Liberal Alliance's candidate Klaus Iohannis has 31.2 percent, according to an exit poll carried out by IRES and broadcast by Digi 24 TV.

Following according to IRES are independent Calin Popescu-Tariceanu — 5.3 percent, People's Movement Party chair Elena Udrea — 5.1 percent, independent Monica Macovei — 4.5 percent, Hunor Kelemen of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania — 3.5 percent, Dan Diaconescu of the People's Party Dan Diaconescu (PP-DD) — 3.3 percent, Corneliu Vadim Tudor of the Greater Romania Party — 2.9 percent and independent Teodor Melescanu — 1 percent, William Branza of the Romanian Ecological Party — 0.5 percent, while independent Gheorghe Funar received 0.1 percent.
