Eczac?ba?? VitrA crowned champions of European women's volleyball

Turkish team Eczac?ba?? VitrA has been crowned the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League winners in Poland after beating Italy?s Unendo Yamamay in three straight sets in the final on April 5.

Skipping past another Turkish club, Vak?fBank, 3-1 in the semifinal, the wom-en of Eczac?ba?? VitrA won the title after beating the Italian team 25-22, 25-20, 25-21.

Unendo Yamamay took a 16-12 lead in the first half, but Eczac?ba?? VitrA roared back thanks to Maja Poljak and Jordan Quinn Larson?s remarkable per-formances, winning 25-22.

Eczac?ba?? VitrA were stronger in the second set, breaking the resistance of the Italian team, ultimately taking the middle stanza 25-20. 

Making a good start to the third set, Eczac?ba?? VitrA was leading 8-6 until the first technical timeout and then increased the gap to four (12-8). The Italians restored parity at 13-13, but Eczac?ba?? VitrA took a 16-15 lead before the sec-ond technical time out. In the last section, Eczac?ba?? VitrA played more resili-ently and won the set 25-21 to crown themselves champions.  

Meanwhile, Vak?fBank won against Poland?s Chemik to secure third place in the tournament.
