Bild: Haikalis appointment to government a scandal

German tabloid newspaper “Bild” has lashed out against newly appointed member of the Greek government Pavlos Haikalis who was sworn in Saturday as the Deputy Minister of Social Security.

The 65-year-old actor is a member of the government’s junior coalition partner, right-wing ANEL party, and caused quite a furor over his comment after assuming his new post about being handed ‘a hot potato’ Bild attacks Greek PM lexis Tsipras for choosing Haikalis, a right populist who had likened German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Hitler in a past interview to German paper Tagesspiegel.

Bild considers his appointment as a scandal adding that this proves that the Greek MP has no real intentions of mobbing forward with ant reforms.
