It’s been seven years since Abba have been glimpsed at together as a group, but all that changed at the Tuesday opening of Mamma Mia! The Party – a new restaurant in Stockholm. The Swedish pop foursome whose music has survived the decades got together to endorse the cuisine they inspired.

The restaurant is the brainchild of former Abba member Bjorn Ulvaeus who wants to transfer the dancing-in-the-aisles party atmosphere to Stockholm’s dining scene.

It offers Abba fans a chance to eat while watching a show based on Abba hits! The live restaurant experience hopes to replicate the commercial success of Mamma Mia the long-running musical and movie starring Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan and Julie Walters.

Then there’s the Greek angle. The restaurant experience will be at the Nikos Taverna in Tyrol that is designed to emulate an evening at a Greek taverna at the island of Skopelos that stood as a backdrop for the film version. Guests dine on a three-course Greek-inspired buffet. The experience promises to feature Greek gods and perhaps a Zorba and an ouzo or two.

Tickets are at 109 pounds per person for an evening, but the experience itself promises to be priceless.
