Greeks swept their opponents in Europe

Greek teams scored five wins in five games in Europe this week, sweeping all their opponents in the Euroleague and the Champions League, as Olympiakos beat UNICS Kazan and Panathinaikos dismissed Galatasaray on Friday to improve their position on the Euroleague table.

The Reds gave no chance to UNICS Kazan to dispute their supremacy in Piraeus and won 88-59 for their seventh win in 11 games so far.

The relentless defense of Olympiakos stifled the Russian attack, that had twice as many turnovers as the Greeks (20 against 10). The hosts' lead came up to 35 points, eventually inflicting on UNICS its worst ever loss in the Euroleague.

Matt Lojeski and Erick Greene were the top scorers for Olympiakos, each with 15 points.
