Djokovic definitely cleared to play at US Open

WASHINGTON - US President Joe Biden on Tuesday withdrew a regulation mandating COVID-19 vaccination for foreign travellers, which officially confirms that Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic will be able to play at the US Open this year.

Biden's decision will take effect on May 12, after the end of a coronavirus emergency in the US.

Due to his vaccine status, Djokovic - who is unvaccinated against COVID-19 - missed the US Open in 2022 and the Indian Wells and Miami Masters in 2023.

Djokovic has won three US Open titles and lost to Russian Daniil Medvedev in the final in 2021.

This year's US Open will take place from August 28 to September 10.
