Dubai – Foreign Minister Anže Logar is visiting the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Saudi Arabia this week on a tour aimed at enhancing bilateral ties and creating potential for economic cooperation in particular. He will also visit the Expo 2020 show in Dubai.

Representatives from Turkish and Qatari private sectors will hold talks to run the airport in Afghanistan after the Taliban took control of the country, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.

Turkey and Qatar Dec. 7 signed 15 agreements, including in various fields such as military, health, tourism, and education, to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries during a visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Doha.

Turkey aims to attract as many as 50 million foreign holidaymakers and generate $50 billion in tourism revenues in 2023, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy has said.

Turkey's Investment Office and Finance Office opened branches in the Qatar Financial Centre located in the Gulf country's capital Doha.

Qatari businesses will now have access to the many advantages that these offices offer, said Mehmet Göksu, the Turkish ambassador in Qatar, during the opening ceremony.

Turkey can play "an active role in investing, realizing some projects, renovating and restoring Afghanistan," with the resources it possesses, according to that country's acting foreign minister.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Amir Khan Muttaqi said the official recognition of his government and international aid held great importance to the recovery of the country's economy.

The Taliban warned the United States not to "destabilize" the regime on Oct. 9 during their first face-to-face talks since the U.S. withdrawal, as a deadly sectarian bombing raised further questions about their grip on power.

Formula 1 today confirmed that the Losail International Circuit in Qatar will be the latest addition to the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship between the 19th - 21st November, with Ooredoo - the international communications company as the title sponsor.

Qatar will join the F1 calendar under a 10-year deal from 2023.

Senior Pentagon officials said on Sept. 29 the collapse of the Afghan government and its security forces in August could be traced to a 2020 U.S. agreement with the Taliban that promised a complete U.S. troop withdrawal.
