Bulgaria Beats Malta 1:0, Keeps Chances of Qualifying for Euro 2016 Alive
The Bulgarian men's national football team defeated Malta 1:0 in a match from qualifying Group H on Friday and kept its chances of qualifying for UEFA Euro 2016 alive.
The only goal was scored by striker Ivelin Popov in the 56th minute after Ilian Micanski had missed a penalty for the Bulgarians in the added time of the first half.
Bulgaria to Face Malta in Vital Euro 2016 Qualifier
The Bulgarian men's national football team will face on Friday Malta in a vital qualifier for the UEFA Euro 2016, which will to a large extent determine whether the team will keep its chances of qualifying for the European championship next year.
The kick-off at the National Stadium in Ta' Qali is at 20:45 CET and the match will be broadcasted live on BNT 1 and BNT HD.
Bulgaria Climbs Five Positions in FIFA World Ranking
The Bulgarian men's national football team climbed four position in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, which was released on Thursday.
At present, Bulgaria occupies 62nd position with 537 points, being between the teams of Peru and Australia.
Thus, Bulgaria improved its performance from last month with five positions and 32 points.
Rovinj, Croatia, Braces for Red Bull Air Race
With fine weather forecast for the weekend, the Red Bull Air Race is set to kick off on Saturday in the old town of Rovinj on the western side of Croatia's Istrian peninsula.
Sponsored by the world-famous energy drink Red Bull, the two-day event, running for only the second time in Rovinj, is a part of an eight-race world championship for acrobatic pilots.

Romanian Horia Tecau and Dutch Jean-Julien Rojer, the main favourites, on Thursday advanced as a double to the men's doubles event final of the 494,310-US-dollar Nice Open 2015 tennis tournament, after defeating Argentinean double Guillermo Duran/Maximo Gonzales 6-3, 7-5 in one hour and 12 minutes of play.

Bulgaria Loses to Croatia at Opening of UEFA European U-17 Championship
The host nation Bulgaria lost at the opening of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship on Wednesday, suffering a 0-2 defeat to Croatia.
The match, which was played at the Beroe stadium in the city of Stara Zagora, was attended by 10 000 spectators and took place right after the official opening ceremony of the tournament.
Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov Reaches Istanbul Semifinals
Bulgarian top tennis player Grigod Dimitrov has defeated Croatia's Ivan Dodig in a TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open match.
Dimitrov has made it to the semifinals by defeating Dodig 6-4, 6-3, adding 90 points to his result in the ATP Rankings.
To find his way into the final match, he will have to face either Pablo Cuevas (Uruguay) or Thomaz Bellucci.
