Croatia Arrests Zadar Tycoon Over Graft Claims

Sinovcic, who is also president of local football club NK Zadar, was detained on Tuesday morning at his home in the town on Croatia's Adriatic coast.

Six others were also arrested in the same operation, five of them employees of the local tax administration office.

Croatian media have speculated that they are accused of embezzling some 1.3 million euro.

Bulgaria's Sofia and Varna will co-host the 2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship with Italy's Milan and Turin, transpired at a meeting in Milan on Wednesday, reports the Gong.bg website.

The two sports halls in Bulgaria, which will host the tournament are Sofa's Arena Armeec and Varna's Palace Of Culture and Sports, which is closed for renovations.

BELGRADE - Crvena Zvezda basketball club said goodbye on Sunday to its supporter Marko Ivkovic who was murdered in Istanbul on November 21 ahead of the Euroleague match with Galatasaray.

"We did not know Marko Ivkovic but he knew Crvena Zvezda very well and loved it very much. Above all, and in a special way," the Belgrade basketball club said on its official website.

Croatia's centre-left government has presented a rebalanced state budget for 2015, cutting the deficit by some 390 million euro from about 2 billion euro to 1.57 billion euro, or 3.9 per cent of GDP.

BELGRADE - Partizan Belgrade lost to Turkey's Besiktas Istanbul 4-0 at home in Round 3 of the UEFA Europa League late Thursday.
