There was enthusiasm at SYRIZA’s headquarters on Koumoundourou street from the first exit polls that put the party ahead of its main rival, the conservative New Democracy party. As the night progressed with votes tallied in the party’s favor, reserved joy gave way to smiles and cheers… and the flow of whiskey.

Warning issued for torrential rain and thunderstorms in Greece

Croatia shuts down remaining border crossing for trucks

Starting from midnight last night the only crossing on the border between Croatia and Serbia, Batrovci-Bajakovo, has been closed for freight traffic.

Croatian authorities have stopped the entrance to that country. A 10-kilometer long line of trucks has formed on the Serbian side.
