Sweden Increases Defense Expenditures over Russian Threat
Sweden´s government has announced plans to increase the budget share of defense in the years to come until 2024.
The country´s number of aircraft and submarines is to be increased, and military presence in the Baltic sea is to be bolstered, according to the German Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
FAP to manufacture 10 lorries for Serbian Armed Forces
PRIBOJ - FAP will build 10 FAP 1118 lorries for the Serbian Armed Forces, head of the company Zoran Zakovic said on Tuesday.
"We have signed the contract and expect the production to begin in mid-May," he told Tanjug.
The army began using FAP 1118 several years ago, replacing the old TAMs, which had been the main lorry for the military for decades.
Putin, Lavrov Warn Against Use of Army in Eastern Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that Ukraine was "on the verge of civil war" and described the actions of Ukraine's military in the east as "unacceptable".
Putin made the first comment during a phone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whereas the second was in a call to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as RIA Novosti reported.

BELGRADE - The reform of the public sector and tax system together with an organized battle against the gray economy are at the top of the list of 10 key reforms the business community demands from the next government, according to a survey conducted by the Serbian Association of Employers (UPS) among 1,284 small, medium and large companies in 44 cities and municipalities in Serbia.

69 years since breakthrough of Syrmian Front
BELGRADE - Serbia marked on Saturday 69 years since the breakthrough of the Axis lines on the Syrmian Front after a 175-day campaign to liberate Yugoslavia from Nazi occupation in World War II.
The Syrmian Front campaign saw some of the most difficult and longest and most tragic WWII fighting. Over 250,000 soldiers fought in the trench battles from October 21, 1944 to April 12, 1945.

Nikolic, Davenport discuss new govt, dialogue with Pristina

General Dikovic lays wreath at monument to fallen pilots
BELGRADE - Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic laid a laurel wreath on behalf of the Serbian government at the monument to the fallen pilots at Zemun quay on Sunday, thus marking 73 years since the beginning of World War II.
