In its closing statement on Wednesday, the prosecution called on the state court in Sarajevo to convict Srecko Acimovic of genocide and give him a sentence as close to the maximum as possible.

Former Territorial Defence fighter Milan Trisic will go on trial on March 23 for crimes including murders, expulsions, unlawful arrests and pillage, the Bosnian state court decided on Tuesday.

"He saw us. I saw him too. He raised his hand, he waved… They went off towards Potocari. I have never seen him again," she said.

Malagic has testified at four trials of Bosnian Serbs military and political officials at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague - the cases against Radislav Krstic, Radovan Karadzic, Zdravko Tolimir and Ratko Mladic.

A 'red notice' has been posted on Interpol's online wanted list calling on countries worldwide to arrest Milojko Kovacevic, who is accused of the forcibly removing, torturing, abusing and beating Bosniak civilians from the village of Donje Veletovo in the Visegrad area of eastern Bosnia in June 1992.

The Serbian War Crimes Prosecution told BIRN that it has charged Osman Osmanovic with committing war crimes against civilians and prisoners of war at the Rasadnik camp in Gornji Rahic in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Brcko area during the summer of 1992.

The indictment was issued on Friday and has yet to be confirmed by a court.

The trial has started for crimes against humanity of a former member of the Third Company of the Prijedor Motorized Brigade with the Bosnian Serb army, the Army of Republika Srpska, VRS.

Milomir Savcic, the president of the Veterans' Organisation of Republika Srpska, pleaded not guilty at the Bosnian state court on Monday to assisting the commission of genocide in July 1995.

"This is a totally fictional indictment. I do not feel guilty. I plead not guilty," he said.

The Bosnian prosecution on Wednesday called on the state court to convict ex-soldiers Branko Cigoja, Zeljko Todic, Sasa Boskic and Milorad Glamocak of the murders of 28 Bosniak and Croat civilians in Oborci, near the town of Donji Vakuf, on September 13, 1995.

Families of victims, Bosnian politicians and ordinary Sarajevans gathered to lay flowers and pay tributes on Wednesday at the site of the Markale market shelling on the 26th anniversary of the deadly attack during the siege of Sarajevo by Bosnian Serb forces.

The retrial of Sretko Pavic opened on Tuesday at the appeals chamber of the Bosnian state court after the first-instance verdict sentencing him to 13 years in prison for crimes against humanity was quashed.
