Istanbul Theater Festival to raise curtain in November
The 22nd edition of the Istanbul Theater Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), will take place between Nov. 17 and Dec. 4.
İKSV launches new translation award
The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) will present the one-off "Ahmet Cemal First Translation Award" in honor of the esteemed author and translator Ahmet Cemal who passed away on Aug. 1, 2017.

Istanbul Theater Festival to host 'Hamlet | Collage'
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, the 22nd edition of the Istanbul Theater Festival is getting ready to meet theatergoers in November. One of the highlights of the festival program will be the Canadian theater and film director Robert Lepage's "Hamlet | Collage," in which he reimagines Shakespeare's renowned tragedy.
Istanbul Music Festival kicks off
The 46th Istanbul Music Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) opened on May 23 with an opening ceremony and concert at the Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center.

4th Istanbul Design Biennial awaits open call submissions
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) and due to be held from Sept. 22 to Nov. 4, 2018 with the title of “A School of Schools,” the 4th Istanbul Design Biennial invites everyone from around the world to respond to its open call for submissions.
Filmekimi to travel seven Turkish cities this year
The 16th Filmekimi, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), will be bringing cinephiles in seven different cities together with outstanding films between Sept. 29 and Oct. 8. The festival will travel to six more cities during October.

The rise of arts and culture in Turkey in tough times
Despite heavy political and diplomatic problems in Turkey, there are signs of a boost in cultural life in the country, showing the desire of at least some Turkish people to stick with universal values. Istanbul in particular is blooming, with marquee arts and culture events opening seemingly every day.
15th Istanbul Biennial opens at weekend
The 15th Istanbul Biennial, entitled "A Good Neighbor" and curated by artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset, opens to the public on Sept. 16.
Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), the event brings together artworks by 56 artists from 32 countries, all addressing different notions of home, belonging and neighborhood.

Istanbul Jazz Festival to finish with migrant concert
The 24th Istanbul Jazz Festival will finish with a concert on July 21, featuring the Syrian Women's Chorus, composed of Syrian women who migrated to Istanbul.
In the concert, the chorus will accompany the Syrian saxophone player Basel Rajoub's band "Sorina" and Sirojiddin Juraev, a master performer of long-necked lutes from Central Asia.
