Rita Ora, who was born to Kosovo Albanian parents in Pristina, will headline one of the biggest events being staged from Thursday to Sunday to mark the tenth anniversary of Kosovo's declaration of independence.

"I am so excited to be joining all of you in Kosovo to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Independence on Feb 17!" Ora wrote on Twitter on Wednesday evening.

Another Kosovo man has been killed in Syria, while fighting alongside the terrorist organisation of ISIS (ISIL, Islamic State), gazetaexpress.com reports.

The killed jihadist is Betim Ibrahimaj from the municipality of Istok. The news has been confirmed by his wife who is also in Syria. She informed members of the Ibrahimaj family, that their son Betim has been killed.

Gazeta Express has learned from its sources within the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) and Kosovo Police that they know who killed Kosovo Serb politician, Oliver ivanovic on 16 January 2018 in Mitrovica North.

Killing of the Kosovo Serb leader, Oliver Ivanovic, who was gunned down in front of his SDP Party headquarters in Mitrovica North, is likely to be solved soon.

Betim Ibrahimaj, who was on the run from the Kosovo authorities, was reported to have been killed in the conflict zone in Syria on Tuesday.

"Kosovo Police have information from different sources related to the murder of this person," police spokesperson Bajram Krasniqi told BIRN.

Belgrade-based Beta agency reported this early on Monda, citing Pristina-based Albanian language website gazetaexpress.com.

According to the report, the officers are "D.M. and Z.J."

On suspicion that they did not properly protect the crime scene two members of the Kosovo police station in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica have been detained, said the prosecutor conducting investigation into the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, Njazi Redza.

Kosovo Police on Saturday arrested two police officers from the Serb-run northern part of the town of Mitrovica on suspicion that they manipulated evidence at the scene of Oliver Ivanovic's murder in January.

The party led by murdered Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanovic claimed that Kosovo police have “obviously no will” to find the killers because no information about the investigation has been revealed.

There are no new details in the investigation of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, the Kosovo police said on Monday.

But a working group set up to conducting the investigation is working in full capacity and the doors for cooperation are not closed to anyone, Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Police in North Mitrovica Besim Hoti has told Tanjug.

This is according to Russian Orthodox Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, who spoke for the SPC broadcaster TV Hram.
