General Kircho Kirov: The condition of the Bulgarian Special forces and Army is very disturbing

The condition and most importantly the lack of enough servicemen in the Special Forces and the Army, is very disturbing, said in an interview for Radio Focus general Kircho Kirov, who was chief of the National intelligence agency between 2003 and 2012.

One Turkish soldier killed in clash with PKK militants in Turkey's Trabzon

A Turkish soldier was killed during a clash with outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the Black Sea province of Trabzon on May 15, Doğan News Agency has reported.

The clash occurred in the Karaağaç village in Trabzon's Maçka district early on May 15. 

PKK militants opened fire during search works of a team from Trabzon's Provincial Gendarmerie Command.

Order to remain in barracks would have outed coup bid: Turkish commander

The failed July 2016 coup would have been revealed immediately if personnel had been ordered to stay in their military barracks on that day, Special Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Zekai Aksakallı has said in his testimony as a witness into the killing of anti-coup soldier Ömer Halisdemir, who has been idolized for his actions during a raid on the Special Forces Command in Ankara.
