Some 30 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were killed in security operations carried out between March 6 and 13, the Turkish Interior Ministry has said. 

Some 70 militants were "neutralized" in nationwide operations, according to the ministry.  

A court has ruled for Special Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Zekai Aksakallı to testify as a witness in the case into the killing of anti-coup soldier Ömer Halisdemir, who has been idolized for his resistance during a raid on the Special Forces Command in Ankara. 

According to a news report from the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, a Turkish Coast Guard boat with members of the Special Forces, approached the small rocky islets of Imia. They stayed for around and took some photos.

A promotional ride was organized on Saturday in a new Russian-manufactured train. The train’s interior was decorated with the imagery of the Serb cultural and spiritual heritage located in Kosovo and Metohija.

Some 442 people were arrested in terror operations conducted in just the last week around Turkey, the Interior Ministry has announced. 

According to the ministry, drugs worth some 11 million Turkish liras were also confiscated in operations that were carried out between Jan. 2 and 9.

Increased security measures have been introduced along Bulgaria's borders and at military sites, announced the chief of defence General Konstantin Popov at Novo Selo. The final stage of the multi-national military training exercise Platinum Lion took place there on Tuesday. The exercise was observed by the ambassadors of the USA, Albania, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine.

The military operation launched by Turkey in Syria's north against terror groups in the region has slowed down after reaching a key town held by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). 

Eighteen suspects involved in a deadly raid on Gölbaşı Special Forces Commandership in Ankara on the night of the July 15 coup attempt, believed to have been orchestrated by the Gülen movement, face multiple sentences of aggravated life imprisonment after an indictment was accepted on Dec. 1.

A plot to kidnap and assassinate Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the night of the July 15 coup attempt was planned a week before the failed bid, at a meeting in a mansion in Ankara, a prosecutors' indictment into 47 putschist soldiers has alleged. 

Next week will mark the third month of Turkey's Euphrates Shield Operation, which has been able to successfully secure an area including a 100-kilometer-strip of the Turkish-Syrian border and clear an area of around 1,700 kilometers square inside Syria from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
