The condition of "We continue the change" to GERB and MRF to hold talks on possible post-election rule are such that they are almost impossible: MRF to break with ex-MP Peevski, and GERB to support the replacement of Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev. This was commented in an tv interview by the co-founder of the formation and former minister Kiril Petkov.
The delegation from the LIBE Democracy, Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights Monitoring Group, on a mission monitoring the rule of law in Bulgaria, was not satisfied with its meeting with Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, Dutch MEP and leader of the delegation Sophia in 't Veld (Renew Europe) said on Friday.
Bulgaria's Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev after all came to the National Assembly to participate in the sitting of the Legal Affairs Committee. In parliamentary lobby before journalists Geshev expressed his jcontent that he was invited to the National Assembly, although respect between the institutions means tha reasonable time span should be given for this to happen.
Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev will most likely not appear before the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, where he was invited to participate today in a "discussion related to the activities of the prosecution and investigation on the rule of law in relation to police violence against protesting citizens ".

The probe comes after the release of video footage dated July 10 2020, acquired from the cameras of the Ministerial Council, which has caused fresh concerns about unsanctioned police brutality during the 2020-2021 protests.
