Number of books in public libraries on the rise in Turkey: Report

The number of books in Turkish public libraries increased by 1.8 percent in 2020, compared to the previous year, to reach 21.1 million, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has said.

The number of public libraries increased by 2.6 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year and reached 1,213, TÜİK said in a report.

The century-old Virgin March Church in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri has been turned into a library by the municipality after its restoration works have been completed.

The First 24-Hour Library in Sofia Will Open on October 1

Students open the first 24-hour library in Bulgaria. This will happen on October 1st at 10 "Akademik Zhak Natan" street in Studentski grad next to the High College of Telecommunications and Posts. The initiators are Martina Georgieva and her colleagues Lachezar Yordanov and Tsvetomira Giaurova.

There will be constant video surveillance at night.
