Terror group suspects are charged

Eleven suspected members of the Turkish far-left guerrilla group DHKP-C were on Friday charged with membership of a terrorist organization and weapons charges after a joint operation by the Hellenic Police's counterterrorism unit and the National Intelligence Service led to the discovery of a tunnel containing heavy artillery in Sepolia, near central Athens. 

Mitsotakis dared to face down the Church

What no other prime minister dared to do, from the late Andreas Papandreou and his minister of education Antonis Tritsis in the 1980s, to Alexis Tsipras in the previous four and a half years - despite their stated intentions - was done by Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He clashed with the Church of Greece over the new coronavirus, and did not back down.

Turkey Promises €14.3 Billion Economic Support amid Pandemic

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday announced an economic package worth 100 billion liras (14.3 billion euros) to tackle the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the Turkish economy.

Erdogan said that the Turkish government will do everything it can to protect the country's economy and businesses.

Turkey unveils 100 billion liras of aid package to combat coronavirus damage

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced an aid package of 100 billion Turkish liras (about $15.4 billion) to help overcome the effects of a coronavirus outbreak.

"Our top priority is that production and employment do not get interrupted. We will get stronger with public and private solidarity. We launch a package that will be a shield for our economy," Erdoğan said.

Opposition parties pledge support to Turkey’s fight against COVID-19

Opposition political parties have pledged to contribute to Turkey's ongoing efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus, with calls on parliament to set up a commission to support the medical teams' works across the country, as one person died due to the pandemic, while 98 others are currently infected.
