103 more dead from coronavirus; 1,498 new infections

Authorities announced 103 more deaths from the coronavirus, along with 1,498 new cases Sunday.

There are also a record 540 patients on ventilators.

Thessaloniki once more had the most new cases, with 305, followed by the Attica region, with 218, and Larissa, Trikala and Volos, all three in central Greece, with 84, 80 and 79 cases, respectively.

KIS condemns repeated vandalism of Trikala's Jewish sites

The Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece (KIS) condemned on Friday the second vandalism of a Jewish site in Trikala, Thessaly, within two days and called for the arrest of the perpetrators and the proper guarding of the site by municipal authorities.
The perpetrators destroyed part of the fence of the town's Holocaust Monument and removed the Star of David.

Inmate dies at Trikala Prison from apparent head injury

An inmate of Trikala Prison in central Greece died on Friday, possibly as a result of a head injury sustained during a fight with a fellow convict.

The 66-year-old was dead by the time prison authorities could get him to hospital, the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA) reported, quoting local sources.
