Turkey formally requests extradition of businessman from Austria
Turkey has formally requested the extradition of fugitive businessman Sezgin Baran Korkmaz from Austrian authorities.
Korkmaz, who had been sought for money laundering allegations both by Turkey and the U.S., was arrested on June 19 in Austria.

Turkey slams int'l watchdog report on money laundering
The Turkish financial crimes unit slammed a global money laundering watchdog report against the country's money laundering efforts.
"Turkey's struggles weren't revealed in the report. [Turkey] was subjected to unfair assessment," Turkey's Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) officials told Anadolu Agency on Dec. 19 on a recent report by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
Former Central Bank employees detained in anti-Gülen operation
At least 27 former employees of the Turkish Central Bank have been detained as part an investigation launched into alleged members of the movement of Fethullah Gülen, the main suspect behind the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, along with several others from the Public Procurement Authority (KİK).
Turkish financial crimes unit probes 30,000 suspected of Gülen links
Turkey's Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) has probed around 30,000 people linked to the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), the followers of U.S. based preached Fethullah Gülen who is the leading suspect in the July 15 coup attempt probe, in around 400 cases, according to a government report.
