Kamberi: PDD will not turn down government formation talks

BELGRADE - The Party for Democratic Action (PDD), which has won two seats in the Serbian parliament, will not turn away from the talks on its participation in the new government, says Saip Kamberi, official of the political party gathering ethnic Albanians from the south of central Serbia.

Kamberi stated for Tanjug that he expects the future government to create conditions for the economic development of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and enable the integration of Albanian representatives in the local and regional government bodies.

We advocate for the dialogue, respect for human rights, addressing economic issues and integration of our representatives into the local and regional government bodies, he said, adding that those can be the principles on which the talks on participation in the new government can be based.

Kamberi expressed satisfaction with PDD's result in the early parliamentary election held on March 16. Our political vision and realistic policy has been recognized not only by our members, but also by other citizens who placed their trust in us, said Kamberi.

PDD is the only political party of ethnic Albanians in this part of Serbia that has taken part in the elections, while the other parties opted for a boycott.

PDD participated in the previous elections in a coalition with two other ethnic Albanian parties and won one seat in the parliament.
