Ivanovic through to Madrid 3rd round

MADRID- Serbia's Ana Ivanovic reached the third round of the WTA Premier Series tournament in Madrid by beating compatriot Bojana Jovanovski 6-4, 6-2 late Tuesday.

Ivanovic, the more experienced and higher ranked of the two, put in a superior, more confident performance and deservedly won the match after 76 minutes, converting the first match point.

In a bid to reach the quarter-finals, Ivanovic will face the winner of the match between Serbia's Jelena Jankovic and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia.

The prize money of the Madrid WTA tournament amounts to EUR 3.87 million.
