President Basescu decorates battle flag of 33rd Posada Mountaineering Battalion

President Traian Basescu on Thursday signed a decree decorating the battle flag of the 33rd Posada Mountaineering Battalion in recognition of their professionalism displayed in Afghanistan missions.

'In recognition and special appreciation of their participation in successfully conducting the missions pledged by Romania in Afghanistan, President Traian Basescu has bestowed the Military Virtue Order in rank of Officer and war insignia on the battle flag of the 33rd Posada Mountaineering Battalion,' the Presidential Administration reports in a press release.

The decoration was made at the proposal of Defence Minister Mircea Dusa.

President Basescu also signed a decree decorating the battle flag of the 30th Dragoslavele Mountaineering Battalion in recognition of the battalion's professionalism displayed on mission in Afghanistan.

The battle flag of the 30th Dragoslavele Mountaineering Battalion received a Military Virtue Order in rank of Cavalier with war insignia for the battalion's successful missions in Afghanistan.

The decoration was made at the proposal of Defence Minister Dusa. AGERPRES
