Foreign Ministry: Romanian citizen on board of downed plane in Ukraine

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs that a person with dual citizenship, Romanian included, was on the list of the passengers on board the Boeing 777 aircraft downed in eastern Ukraine on Thursday.

"To complete the press release issued this morning as regards the air tragedy in Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that, following ongoing inquiries into the identity of all passengers, it has been provided with fresh information according to which the list sent so far by the Malaysian Airlines includes a passenger with dual citizenship, Romania included," MAE reports in a release sent to AGERPRES on Friday.

MAE also says that the family of the Romanian citizen was informed by the authorities from the country of residence; the Romanian authorities have also communicated with the family of the Romanian passenger.

"The family of the victim requested that no personal data [of the victim] are made public in any way," MAE informs. AGERPRES
