Krunic beats world's fourth tennis player

NEW YORK - Serbian female tennis player Aleksandra Krunic defeated the double Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in the Saturday match, 6-4, 6-4, and thus qualified for the U.S. Open third round.

Ranking 145th on the WTA list, Krunic continued with excellent game at the New York Grand Slam tournament and after slightly over an hour and a half into the match, she managed to beat the world's fourth tennis player.

From the very start, Krunic managed to set the tempo of the match and she scored a tie break in both sets, seizing the biggest victory in her career.

In the next match, the 21-aged Serbian player will cross rackets with Victoria Azarenka of Belarus who beat Russia's Elena Vesnina, 6-1, 6-1.
