Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra triumphs in Carnegie Hall

BELGRADE - The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra completed its U.S. tour by the concert in New York's Carnegie Hall late on Thursday which won standing ovation.

The historic concert was held in every musician's dream hall in front of over 1,500 people. This event marks the beginning of a new stage in the Orchestra's international success, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra released.

The Orchestra opened the finale of their four-day U.S. tour by a performance of the Marche Slave by Tchaikovsky.

The performance of the Sibelius's Symphony No. 2 demonstrated the full energy and brilliance of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra with Muhai Tang as the chief conductor.

The appearance of famous baritone Zeljko Lucic on stage together with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra won special favours in the audience. Lucic performed with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra on permission by the Metropolitan Opera where he has been performing for years now. In the encore, they performed 'Eri Tu' song from 'A Masked Ball' opera by Verdi.

In the encore, the Orchestra also performed pieces by Serbian composers Jovan Hristic and Stanislav Binicki as the lengthy audience applause kept the Orchestra on stage for quite a while.

Carnegie Hall is an awe-inspiring place among world musicians and to have the place packed in front of you is an amazing feeling, concert master Miroslav Pavlovic said, adding that the Thursday concert represents the crown of the Orchestra's years' long work. He expressed the hope that the success would soon be repeated.
