Ponta: I'm absolutely convinced I can be the President who unites the Romanians

Presidential candidate of the PSD-UNPR-PC electoral alliance, Prime Minister Victor Ponta, said in televised debate Wednesday night where he squared off with his rival, ACL-backed Klaus Iohannis, that he is absolutely convinced that he can be the President who unites the Romanians, that Romania can be a better country, and USL can heal the wounds inflicted in the last 10 years and rebuild what has been broken.

"My message for everyone, be they in Resita, Babadag, or Carei, in Madrid, in Chisinau, or in Cernauti and in all the towns and villages of this country who gave me 95 percent of their votes in the first round, but also for those who voted for Mr. Iohannis or any other candidate, is that after 10 years of division with Traian Basescu and his cronies, Romania has an extraordinary chance to head for the good direction. In the first place let us repair the injustice done back then, in 2010 — 2011. We restored the trimmed pensions and wages, we did justice to the people, but we also need to keep up this pace," Victor Ponta said in the conclusion of the debate aired by the B1 TV channel.
