Republika Srpska Opposition Claim New Support

The Alliance for Changes, the opposition bloc in Republika Srpska, said a non-Serbian party coalition, Homeland, had agreed to support them in forming a majority government in the mainly Serbian entity.

However, the governing Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, SNSD, and two other smaller parties, which were their partners in the previous term, have already said they would be forming the entity government.

The Alliance for Changes is comprised of the Serbian Democratic Party, SDS, the Party of Democratic Progress, PDP, and the People's Democratic Movement, NDP. It has a total of 36 seats in the entity assembly, while Homeland has five seats.

In the October election, the SNSD won 29 seats in the Assembly, the SDS, 24, the DNS, eight, the Socialists, five, the PDP, seven seats, and the NDP and Homeland, five each.
