Princess Margareta and Prince Radu welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace

Princess Margareta, the elder daughter of ex-sovereign of Romania Michael I and her husband Prince Radu were welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, King Michael's Press Office announced in a release to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

The meeting at Buckingham Palace was an invitation to tea at 5 p.m., the release added.

Princess Margareta and Prince Radu paid an official visit to London on Dec. 8-10; they were accompanied by Margareta's nephew Prince Nicholas.

The three Romanian Royal House members were the guests of honour on Monday of the Annual Banquet in the City of London organised by Guild of Freemen of the City of London, one of the oldest, most representative and most respected organisations of London municipality, the release announced.

During the official visit to London, the Romanian royals had meetings with representatives of the economic and diplomatic circles as well as with civil society figures.

This is the 15th visit abroad paid by the Romanian royal family this year, the king's press office stressed. AGERPRES
