Florent Suplisson:The prize for US shows that Bocuse d'Or promotes countries with progressing gastronomy

AGERPRES special correspondent, Oana Ghita, transmits: The Bocuse d'Or Director, Florent Suplisson told AGERPRES that the second prize for the United States of America that podiums as a first, shows that the Bocuse d'Or 'exists to put into light all the countries whose culinary cultures are progressing, are affirming.'

The Bocuse d'Or 2015 competition was won by the Norway team, followed by the teams of the US and Sweden.

Suplisson underlined that the Bocuse d'Or is 'an event which doesn't cease to progress, with a very interesting podium, a usual presence of the Scandinavian countries.'

'It is the fifth victory (for Norway ? editor's note). They are very close to France, the record-keeper,' said he.

Suplisson added that 'the Scandinavian countries are always on the podium, with very, very high level chefs.'

'I believe the very good part of the record of this year is the fact that the United States of America has climbed up the podium directly on the second position, it podiums for the first time and it's a very important country, whose culinary identity continues to affirm itself. This means that Bocuse d'Or exists to put into light all of the countries whose culinary cultures are making progress, are asserting themselves. I believe this American prize, after a very long time is a very, very good thing, and it is a very important thing for Bocuse d'Or, too, which brings diversity on the podium with this country,' the contest's director added.

He also said that the Scandinavians' presence in the competition shows both the quality of the culinary art of these countries and the very good organization.
