Greece, a sinking ship in need of a third bailout

German newspaper Die Welt reports that Greece will need a third bailout backage this summer. The newspaper reports that even if Greece manages to receive the 7.2 billion euros benchmarked for the country but being withheld since the summer of 2014, the money will quickly run out causing Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to seek new funds. “We cannot imagine how he will manage to ‘sell’ this to his nation where there is already a political mandate for the second program,” reports Die Welt.

The newspaper reports that more help will lead to difficult negotiations.

Talks concerning progress in negotiations do not reflect the sad truth that both sides are still far from each other. “It’s like the Titanic,” says one of the people involved in negotiations. “The climate is better now than it was earlier in discussions, but what’s the point of this if the ship is sinking?”

The German newspaper states that Greek negotiators often express frustration because they do not know what the government wants to achieve, states the German newspaper.
