Celebrations Marking Day of Varna to Feature 3-D Water Show

A 3-D water show will be among the spectacles celebrating the Day of Varna, which is marked in the Bulgarian Black Sea capital on August 15.

The show, which is entitled "Fata Morgana - lights above the bay" will be presented at the port and will be part of the concert taking place near the new pedestrian zone next to the maritime station.

According to the director of the spectacle, this will be the first water show of the kind in Bulgaria, daily Dnevnik informs.

A water screen measuring 12 by 20 metres will be created in the area of the port for the purpose of the show.

A special facility pumping out sea water in the air will create a screen on which a 3-D video spectacle will be projected.

The show is to last around ten minutes.

The Bulgarian band Deep Zone Project and Romanian group Akcent will be among those performing on the stage near the maritime station.

A second water attraction, a spectacle entitled "Ave Maria" will be presented at the Primorski pool complex.

A trio, a quartet and a water ballet will participate in the show, which will feature fireworks in the water as its culmination.

The Day of Varna is marked on one of the greatest Christian holidays - the Dormition of the Mother of God.
