DM Kammenos leaves behind ‘egg-gate’, snap elex with …boating excursion

Greece’s outspoken defence minister, Panos Kammenos, appeared completely recovered from an egg-hurling incident on the island of Kos last week and even unperturbed from the prospect of snap elections next, as he “escaped” the political crisis in Athens with a brief boating excursion over the weekend.
Kammenos, the head of a small rightist and up-until-recently anti-bailout party that served as the coalition partner to the ruling SYRIZA, was scene piloting a top-of-the-line powerboat specializing in fishing trips.
Residents of the migrant-swamped island, a top police officer and neo-Nazis, according to Kammenos, “welcomed” him with eggs, bottles and insults during his arrival on the island.
Far from the eastern Aegean and on the mainland, however, Kammenos took the helm of his Grady White Freedom 375 at the upscale Vouliagmeni marina. The pricey 11.5-meter craft, according to reports, retains the state-of-the-art “Helm Master” navigation system, allowing even a novice skipper to sail far and wide.
