AGERPRES exhibition 'Romania: Evolution' opens in Zagreb

The exhibition mounted by the AGERPRES National News Agency called '' Romania: Evolution'' opened on Wednesday evening in Zagreb, in the Rotonda House of Journalists, at a reception extended by the Romanian Embassy in Croatia to celebrate Romania's National Day and the centennial of its Greater Union.

The opening took place in the presence of Romania's ambassador to Croatia Constantin-Mihail Grigore and AGERPRES Director General Claudia Nicolae.

The event was attended by more than 250 guests, including Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Zeljika Reiner and Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Furio Radin, Minister of Regional Development and European Funds Gabriel Zalac, and Minister of State Property Goran Maric.

Also attending were Croat presidential advisers Mate Granic and Dario Mihein, State Secretary with the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Andreja Matelko Zgombic, Mayor of Opatija Ivo Dujmic, President of Croatia's Academy of Sciences and Arts Zvonko Kusic, Rector of the Zagreb University Damir Boras, representatives of the economic and business environments, members of the Romanian community and the Romanian-speaking linguistic communities, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Zagreb.

Ambassador Grigore highlighted the importance of December 1, the National Day of Romania, and the Centennial of Romania's Greater Union celebrated by Romanians around the world as a symbol of the will of the Romanian people and the creation of modern Romania.

He highlighted the high level of bilateral relations of late, as well as the opportunity for close co-operation and coordination of relations between the two countries offered by Romania's and Croatia's membership to the trio that will hold the Presidency of the EU Council in the years 2019 and 2020.

The exhibition ''Romania: Evolution '' comprises pictures that are part of the AGERPRES picture library reflecting the cultural, artistic, political and sports life of the country, as well as photos from the Associated Press picture library. The exhibition also includes the best pictures recently taken by AGERPRES photographers that illustrate the evolution of Romania. At the same time, an homonymous album, a special edition dedicated to Greater Union Centennial that contains 100 pictures from Romania grouped in three chapters: Archives, Revolution, Evolution accompanies the exhibition.
