#Romania2019.eu/PM Dancila says taking over responsibility as EU Council Presidency is a very honorable mission for Romania

AGERPRES special correspondent Dana Piciu reports: Prime Minister Viorica Dancila stated on Wednesday that Romania's takeover of the Presidency at the Council of the European Union represents a very honorable mission for our country, which will be achievable with the support and involvement of the members of the European Parliament.

Viorica Dancila attended on Wednesday, at the European Parliament headquarters, the opening of photographer Sorin Onisor's exhibition and participated in a concert of the "Violoncellissimo" group, led by Marian Cazacu.

"Through this event we have the opportunity to convince ourselves that the EU Council Presidency is a reflection of the European aspirations, dignity in diversity, an exercise with and about people, and cultures that interact and enrich each other in Europe. The deep attachment to the European cause of our citizens has inspired the lines of action of Romania's Presidency programme at the EU Council and is reflected primarily in a key idea - cohesion - a common European value. In this spirit of unity, solidarity and cohesion, we aim to act as the Presidency at the EU Council in an effective manner, bringing the results that our citizens expect. (...) The takeover of the responsibility as the Presidency at the EU Council is a very honorable mission for our country, but one that we know we can achieve with the support and involvement of the members of the European Parliament," the Prime Minister said, mentioning that the two cultural events are marking the launch in Brussels of the Romanian Presidency at the EU Council.
