The MAE states that this anniversary "is an opportunity to greet a huge artist and to promote Romania's contribution to universal culture." "Today, February 19, marks the 145th anniversary of the sculptor Constantin Brancusi's birth, a world-class artistic personality with an essential contribution to the renewal of the language and plastic vision of the twentieth century. In an exceptional string of Romanian artists who have marked the European cultural environment, Brancusi has a special place," the MAE shows on the social network. The post of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the works of the great Romanian sculptor "continue to inspire creators and the general public, being present in the great prestigious museum collections." "Recently, his spectacular Parisian workshop was a central piece in the Romania-France Season at the Centre Pompidou and then, at Europalia in #Brussels, his works were the subject of an exhibition with huge public success. Brancusi gave Romania enormously through his entire creation, work, dedication and artistic generosity, permanently assuming the Romanian artistic and soul identity. Beyond the association of his creativity with traditional symbols, Brancusi inspired generations of artists, designers, architects," the MAE says. At the same time, the MAE launches the invitation to watch the manifesto-film "Brancusi. The ballad of the road to infinity," which evokes, in a unique way, the creative genius of the great artist and famous works such as "The Endless Column," "The Gate of Kiss," "The Table of Silence,""Maiastra"or "Mademoiselle Pogány." February 19 marks the 145th anniversary of the birth of the great Romanian sculptor. By Law 305/2015, the Parliament declared February 19 as "Brancusi Day".
