Serbia lose to Belgium in football friendly

LEUVEN - The Serbia men's national football team lost 1-0 to Belgium away in a friendly on Wednesday evening.

The match was to take place in Brussels but was moved to Leuven due to bad weather and played before empty stands.

Yannick Carrasco scored the winner for Belgium in the second minute after a blunder by Serbia defender Strahinja Pavlovic and a poor attempt of a save by goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic, who later made up for the mistake with several excellent saves.

Filip Djuricic missed two great opportunities to equalise by hitting the goalpost in the 31st minute and the crossbar in the 89th minute.

In a crucial EURO 2024 qualifying game, Serbia host Bulgaria in Leskovac on Sunday.
