NATO Not Commenting on Possible Pullout of Bulgarian Troops in Afghanistan
NATO officials have refrained from commenting on a statement by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, who on Sunday said the country might end its military presence in Afghanistan.
"Bulgaria is a valuable ally with important contribution to common security," the Bulgarian National Radio quotes NATO's headquarters as saying.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has pledged to step down if his party's candidate loses the first round of presidential elections due on November 06.
Borisov has told journalists he is ready to submit his resignation as early as the night when first results are announced, according to Focus News Agency.

Bulgaria to Test Warning Siren Systems on October 03
The civil defense sirens of Bulgaria are to be tested in 11 Bulgarian cities on Friday.
At 13:00 local time, an alert message will sound all across the towns and cities of Burgas, Varna, Vratsa, Kardzhali, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Smolyan, and Sofia.
Every year the test also comprises the 30-km zone around the Kozloduy Nuclear Plant.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has reiterated his idea that the deployment of Bulgarian soldiers in Afghanistan might be cancelled.
Borisov, who has already mentioned the option, has again cited the contradiction between the international coalition's commitment to enforcing security and democracy in Afghanistan and the inflow of migrants from the country into Europe.
Bulgarian Police Detain 16 Migrants in Burgas Region
Police have arrested sixteen irregular migrants in the area of Burgas, on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast.
Their country of origin has not become immediately clear, police officials have told Focus News Agency.
The drivers of two vehicles used to transport the migrants have also been detained. Both are Bulgarian nationals.
Bulgaria's PM Nominates Parliament Speaker for President
Bulgarian Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva will be the main ruling party's candidate in the presidential elections, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has said.
Vice Admiral Plamen Manushev will be the GERB's candidate for Vice President.
Tsacheva, the first female Parliament Speaker of Bulgaria, will also become the first female President if elected.
