Global Economic Crisis Made Albanians Poorer

Credit Suisse considers Albania a lower middle income country in 2013, with a per capita wealth per adult estimated $9,450 (€6,796).

According to the Swiss bank's research arm, in mid-2013 every adult Albanian per capita had $1,780 (€1,280) in financial wealth $8,390 (€6,034) in non-financial wealth and $647 (€465) of debt.

EBRD to Grant More Money to Bulgaria in 2015

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is planning to put aside more funds for Bulgaria in 2015.

Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev announced this after meeting the institution's chief, Suma Chakrabarti, in London, the website Expert.bg has reported.

NATO Terminates Cooperation with Russia

NATO terminates its practical cooperation with Russia, because of the tensions in Ukraine. 

According to NATO's Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, quoted by the Russian wire agency ITAR-TASS, currently NATO is reconsidering its cooperation with Russia. 

Romania Backs EU Sanctions Against Russia

Romania will support any sanctions proposed by the European Union against Russia following the controversial referendum in Crimea, President Traian Basescu said on Monday.

Basescu is to join a meeting of EU heads of state and government on March 21 in Brussels, where European leaders are to piece together a response to the unfolding crisis in Ukraine.
