A member of the terrorist organization PKK surrendered to the Turkish security forces, the Interior Ministry has announced.

A PKK member who escaped from the terrorist organization surrendered to the security forces as a result of persuasion efforts carried out by police and gendarmerie.

Security forces have detained seven people convicted over their links to FETÖ while trying to flee to Greece with a speedboat from the western province of İzmir, Demirören News Agency has reported.

Along with the FETÖ suspects, four organizers were also caught, the agency said on Sept. 18.

Some 14 people with ties to FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in Türkiye, have been nabbed in simultaneous operations in the capital Ankara and the western province of Manisa.

Four FETÖ suspects trying to swim to the Greek islands have been caught by the coast guard teams in the Aegean province of Muğla's Bodrum district.

After the teams noticed, during the night patrol off Bodrum, that there were four suspects swimming in diving suits who were later found to be trying to go to the Greek islands illegally, were taken to the boat by the teams.

Some nine people with ties to FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in Türkiye, have been nabbed in simultaneous operations in the country's four provinces.

Prosecutors in Istanbul issued warrants for the detention of some 11 suspects, accusing them of infiltrating the army.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he will present documents at tomorrow's NATO summit regarding his claim that Sweden and Finland are harbouring "terrorists", which is why he has threatened to veto their accession.

Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has brought Nuri Gökhan Bozkır, who is a suspect in the assassination of academic Necip Hablemitoğlu, to Turkey from Ukraine.

The MİT on Jan. 27 handed the suspect to the police for questioning in Ankara.

Ankara University's Hablemitoğlu, known for his research and books on FETÖ, was killed in 2002 in front of his house.

Turkey on Dec. 2 called on the Council of Europe to avoid interfering in internal affairs of Turkey ahead of a decision this week on whether Ankara could face rare disciplinary proceedings over the case of a jailed businessman. 

A Turkish court on Nov. 26 kept businessman Osman Kavala in jail who is accused of financing 2013 anti-government protests and playing a role in the 2016 coup attempt.

The next hearing is scheduled for January 17.

Turkish security forces arrested at least nine suspects on Nov. 6 with alleged links to the FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in the country, along with a convicted member.
