The impact of the flash floods that struck Mandra on the western outskirts of Athens last week, killing 21 people, has been devastating.

The disaster, nevertheless, once again brought to the fore that dynamic section of Greek society that always rushes to provide emergency assistance during times of crisis and helps with the more long-term healing process whenever it can.

Emergency workers find another flood victim, raising death toll to 21

Rescue workers on Tuesday recovered yet another body in the area of Mandra, bringing the death toll from last week's disastrous flash floods in western Attica to 21.

The body was found close to the Mandra municipality depot and transferred to the Thriassio hospital where relatives were expected to identify him.
