Mosaic

A 2,700-year-old mosaic believed to belong to a wealthy Roman was unearthed in a house-shaped compartment 10 meters below the ground in Turkey's west. 

Tourists are being offered a new glimpse at one of the largest ancient mosaics in the Middle East after renovations undertaken by the Palestinian Authority were unveiled this week.

A 300-square-meter floor mosaic belonging to the Late Roman-Early Byzantine period has been discovered during excavation work in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri.

An ancient mosaic that was unearthed during excavations in the southern province of Hatay will be on display in November to visitors of the Hatay Archeological Museum, the head of the museum said Oct. 21.

Excavations that have been ongoing in the Central Anatolian province of Yozgat have unearthed a 3,500-year-old mosaic, believed to be the oldest in the world.

Unique historical artifacts and mosaics, including those unearthed from the UNESCO heritage ancient site of Göbeklitepe, are carefully being cleaned by expert teams at the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum.
